Surface is the story of Lumi, a fish who longs to find his place. From William Sikora III, the director of “The Egg of Darkness” and “OCEANS” comes the heartwarming animated short inspired by the true story of the anglerfish who swam to the oceans surface. Created with a multitude of mediums, Surface utilized powerful AI image creation mixed with tedious video animation, masking and vfx in After Effects, character designs in Photoshop, all combined in Adobe Premiere Pro to bring it to life. This project was a huge undertaking that I was not expecting, tested by limitations it made me push my creativity to other levels and I am really proud of the result.
